The Agriculture Modernization Project, implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy of the Republic of North Macedonia and financed by the World Bank, organized an information session with representatives of the national ICT sector to present the concept and technical framework of the Integrated Agricultural Information Platform.
The meeting was conducted in cooperation with the Economic Chamber of Information and Communication Technologies – MASIT, with the aim of ensuring timely information sharing with ICT companies and establishing a foundation for transparent and professional cooperation in the forthcoming procurement process.
A Unified Digital Platform for Agriculture
During the event, participants were introduced to one of the project’s key components – the establishment of an integrated agricultural information platform designed to:
– consolidate and upgrade existing software applications within the Ministry
– establish standardized data flows
– develop advanced analytical tools and BI solutions
– support evidence-based policymaking
The concept, system architecture, expected scope of activities, implementation phases, and indicative timelines were presented in detail.
Call for Active Engagement of Relevant Companies
Particular emphasis was placed on qualification criteria and opportunities for companies with relevant expertise in:
– BI platforms and analytical solutions
– data management and integration systems
– development of complex information systems with GIS components
– data warehousing and related technologies
The organizers highlighted that active participation from companies—through questions, comments, and proposals—would contribute to defining a high-quality and sustainable technical solution, as well as to ensuring a successful and transparent procurement process.
The meeting took place on March 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., and the interest shown by ICT companies was considered a positive signal of the domestic market’s readiness to contribute to complex digital projects of national importance.
Through this initiative, the Agriculture Modernization Project continues its systematic approach toward digitalization of the agri-sector, strengthening institutional capacity and establishing a modern technological foundation for agricultural data management.
