The Agriculture Modernization Project has announced a call for bids for the construction of a new Agri-Food Platform (AFP) in Gazi Baba, Skopje, as part of efforts to strengthen agricultural infrastructure and market access.
According to the procurement notice issued on April 15, 2026, the project is financed by the World Bank and will be implemented through an international competitive bidding process using a two-envelope procedure without prequalification.
The contract includes comprehensive civil works covering architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical components, along with water supply and sewage systems, road and traffic arrangements, horticultural landscaping, and photovoltaic installations. The selected contractor will also be responsible for all supporting facilities required for the full operation of the wholesale market complex.
The Agri-Food Platform will be built within the Economic Zone in the Municipality of Gazi Baba, strategically located between the Hypodrome and Singelić interchanges along the Skopje Ring Road.
Construction is expected to begin immediately after the issuance of the building permit and must be completed within 15 months from the date of site handover.
The bidding process will follow the World Bank’s Procurement Regulations for Investment Project Financing (February 2025 edition), with evaluation based equally on technical and financial criteria, each accounting for 50 percent of the total score.
Interested bidders can obtain the bidding documents upon written request, free of charge. Submissions must be delivered in person no later than June 4, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. local time. Electronic submissions will not be accepted, and late bids will be rejected.
All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of €300,000 and a Local Labor Method Statement.
The initiative is part of broader efforts under the Agriculture Modernization Project to enhance the efficiency and competitiveness of the agri-food sector.
